Hudson Helmet for Bicycling and Commuting Recognized for Design and Performance for Micromobilty Category
PLYMOUTH, Mass. (January 21, 2021) – Bern Helmets, respected around the globe for its proprietary street-inspired helmets, combining performance, style, comfort, and safety for the slopes, water action sports, bicycling, and commuting, today announced it was chosen as a winner for the 2021 Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards. Specifically, its Hudson helmet was honored for its concept, design, and functionality, in the cycling category.
Designed for commuters, the Hudson is Bern’s safest helmet, certified for NTA 8776, which is rated for use up to 27 mph, exceeding U.S. safety standards. This new standard raises the bar for protection, requiring 10% more impact tested coverage for the most sensitive parts of the brain, as well as 21% more velocity and 43% more impact energy absorbed than traditional bike standards. It also uses the Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) to protect against brain injuries resulting from rotational motion and features a compass fit, lightweight integrated LED light, and U-lock compatible reinforced vents. Priced at $119.99, it is available at www.bernhelmets.com and at select retailers.
“We are elated to be recognized by Outdoor Retailer for this prestigious award,” said Kenneth Perkins, product design director of Bern. “We are humbled to be in such good company and proud to be a member of an incredibly innovative community. With micromobility taking hold as consumers look for alternatives to public transportation, we knew we had the right expertise to provide a best in class helmet solution – resulting in the Hudson. This will be a clear focus for us in the future. We look forward to applying our 15 years of technology prowess to provide consumers with industry leading solutions.”
