The Hendrix Jr MIPS Winter Helmet is Bern’s all-season helmet designed specifically for kids who ride with style and confidence. Featuring RibTech EPS foam for lightweight impact protection and additional Mips layer protection; it’s built to keep young riders safe and comfortable on the slopes. Certified for bike and snow use (CPSC, EN1077B, EN1078), the Hendrix Jr transitions seamlessly from winter to warmer seasons—making it a solid helmet for year-round adventures. Kids dig it's looks, parents dig its capabilities.

Which goggles would pair well with this helmet?

It's always best to get a measurement and compare with our sizing, but generally we'd recommend the Sawyer for the smaller faces or the S/M. We'd then jump to the B-1 (Size Medium) for the M/L sized junior helmet.

What is RibTech?

RibTech is the EPS liner, re-engineered. Those ribbed channels built into the foam? They’re designed to compress on impact — like crumple zones for your dome. Absorbing force and spreading it out so your head doesn’t take the brunt. It’s lightweight, low-profile protection that works hard without looking like it’s trying.

What is Mips, and why does it matter?

Mips stands for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System. It's an advanced helmet safety technology designed to reduce rotational forces to the brain during certain angled impacts. Inside a Mips-equipped helmet, a low-friction layer allows the helmet to move slightly relative to the head upon impact, helping to redirect rotational motion that could otherwise cause brain injuries.

Does this helmet come with padding to convert for bike use?

Yes! The Hendrix Jr is certified for ski and bike, and while it comes with the winter knit installed; it is removable and a forehead pad is provided to put in it's place for comfy bike use or just better airflow for those late season trips to the mountain when the temps rise.

Do these snow helmets support drop in audio?

If you see 'Drop-In Audio Compatible' in a product page, then yes. Majority of our helmets' winter knits that come pre-installed in our winter helmets have an openable pocket on the exterior of the ear cup to hold your bluetooth helmet speakers.
