Our New E-Bike Helmet

Independent Since Day One

Bern is proudly 100% independently owned. A rarity in the world of bike and snow helmets. That gives us the freedom to design with purpose, not compromise. Every helmet we create blends low-profile style with high-impact protection, built for riders who demand performance on the street and the mountain.

From urban e-bike commutes to backcountry laps, we craft gear that works hard, looks sharp, and never follows the herd. When you choose Bern, you’re supporting a brand that answers to riders, not shareholders.

Why Bern

Thoughtfully Designed.

Every feature, line, and material choice is intentional. The result is a helmet that feels lower profile, more comfortable, and better suited to the way people actually ride.

All-Season Versatility

Many Bern helmets are designed to adapt across changing weather & sports with interchangeable pads and multi-sport certifications.

Trusted Protection

From daily commutes to weekend adventures, Bern helmets are tested and certified to meet recognized safety standards across multiple sports.

Bern Low Profile

Multiple shell sizes and purposeful shaping reduce bulk, creating a helmet that sits lower on the head and feels more natural to wear.

Independently Owned

Still independently owned and rider-focused, allowing Bern to prioritize intentional design over trends and shareholder demands.

E-Bike Certified

Recognizing the growing role of e-bikes in everyday transportation, Bern developed the Hudson and Fremont to meet the NTA 8776 standard for higher-speed riding.

Technology

Engineered For The Ride.

You’ll see these technologies throughout our helmets. Here’s a closer look at what they do and why they matter.

Explore All Tech
Zipmold+ Lite

Zipmold+ Lite

Liquid-injected foam technology that bonds directly to the shell for an exceptionally lighter weight, lower bulk, and a more refined fit.

DVRT

DVRT

Inspired by the woodpecker’s hyoid structure, DVRT uses internal layers within the padding that slide to help redirect impact forces before they reach the head.

Compass Fit

Compass Fit

Micro-adjustable fit system designed to create a secure, personalized fit that stays comfortable through long rides everyday use.

RibTech

RibTech

Our engineered EPS foam toting internal rib channels that help manage airflow and impact energy while reducing weight. The ribs also creates strategic crush zones that aid in absorbing and distributing forces during impacts.

Stealth Slider

Stealth Slider

Internal vent cover system that lets riders fine-tune airflow via a sliding top pad for adaptable comfort in changing conditions.

Mips

Mips

A low-friction layer placed between the helmet’s padding and its liner. This permits the layers to move relative to each other, helping to reduce rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts.

Hendrix

I wrecked my bike last week. I was going roughly 25 mph and my front tire lost all of its air. The bike went out from underneath me. I landed on my side. I distinctly remember my head bashing into the path. The results? I recieved a broken femur, two broken ribs (that punctured my lung), and a broken wrist. My head? Perfectly fine. Zero damage.

Urban Commuter Favorite

The Bern Hudson is a low-profile helmet for urban riders. What drew us in on the Hudson was the 5 star Virginia Tech safety rating, a MIPS liner, a NTA 8776 eBike rating, and of course the rear light.

Perfect For Young Riders

The Bern Nina helmet is perfect for my daughter. She loves the design, and I love that it keeps her safe. The fit is great, and she says it's comfortable even on longer rides.

Stylish and Functional

Apart from the crash performance, the vents are something that I really liked. The Bern Watts has 11 total vents... These vents do a fantastic job of keeping the head comfortable and air circulated very well.”

Watts 2.0

This is one seriously comfortable helmet. I’ve worn it in the backcountry touring as well as heli-skiing and lapping the lifts. When I wear it touring or riding the lifts I keep the earpads attached. When I wear the helmet heli-skiing I remove the earpads so I can use earmuffs. It’s a comfortable helmet both ways.

Lightweight & Well Ventilated

Two things that Bern’s Major bike helmet does really well are the weight and airflow. Bern managed to fit a staggering 14 different vents into this helmet, far more than any other commuter helmet that I’ve used. Additionally, the Major only weighs 315 grams, making it incredibly lightweight for any helmet.

Love my new lid!

Great helmet! I took a heel side digger going way too fast on a hard packed groomer and I was really happy I had it it. The adjustment system works great to get a proper fit.
Highly recommended!!!
